I.B.I.S Student Management Assistant
One thing I have learned from teaching all these years is that a teacher needs support, especially when one is now a "One Man Band" as it were. In this increasingly online world, the very nature of teaching is changing; AI is on the increase and has become endemic, even in the online, vitual classroom environment.

We, as teachers, need to keep up but we might not have the resources the online platforms, academies, and larger schools have.

So what do we do?

I started out with six students and could manage to track their progress and create their lessons easily enough. But now I have twenty-six students; of various ages, backgrounds, profciencies, interests, needs, and requirements. I need to manage this and provide them with the up-to-date feedback and statistics the online services and apps can give them, at easy reach.

So, I had to face and slacken my aversion to AI.

Now, I use it regularly to prepare reading and discussion texts for my conversation students, to help EILTS/CELTA/Trinity/TEFL students summarise texts, to create fun lessons for kids, and to produce worksheets based on the texts and points of grammar.

I then flirted with actual AI models and, through much trial and error, came up with I.B.I.S; my intelligent Student Management Assistant which contains;

-
A Dynamic Student Records and Management System
-
Dynamic Student Summaries and Progress Records
-
Weekly Porgress Metrics and Guidance
-
Monthly Progress and Guidance
-
Lesson Summary Report
-
Automated Audio Transcription Browser Plugin
-
(In Progress) AI Powered Transcription Analisis for Instant Feedback

The aim is to give students instant and actionable feedback in moments, to let them see, instantly, how they are progressing and which areas they need to improve and have this feedback at their fingertips to refer to at their leisure.
